Flywheel machining is performed onsite to make sure your new clutch engages smoothly. Your vehicle may be fitted with a dual-mass flywheel (DMF) unit. Dual mass flywheels are tuned systems and are matched to the engine torque curve, engine resonant characteristics and vehicle load conditions. If your vehicle's engine has been modified, then the dual-mass flywheel may fail prematurely. A SMF (single mass flywheel) offers you a far wider range of heavy duty clutch options. The SMF can be machined many times over and the initial cost of the SMF conversion is often much less than the replacement cost of a DMF system.
